Eleonora di Toledo exhibition

At the Pitti Palace, the cradle of Renaissance art, you can visit the largest exhibition ever dedicated to Eleonora di Toledo, the “Grand Lady of the 16th century”: more than 100 works and some significant international loans, including paintings, drawings, tapestries, dresses, jewellery and precious stones will tell the story of the life, personality and extensive cultural impact of the Duchess of Florence.

Eleonora di Toledo was the wife of Cosimo de’ Medici, and after his death became Grand Duchess and regent of Florence, a politically influential woman, the true founder of the Boboli Gardens as they are known today, but also an icon of beauty, fashion and costume of her time.
