On Thursday 27th at 17:30 the Cartavetra Art Gallery inaugurates Le Due Rose (The Two Roses), a monographic exhibition dedicated to the works of Pavlo Makov, curated by Domenico De Chirico.

The collection of works is a simple and clear attempt to draw attention on the meaning of art strictly linked to life itself and tries to give a collective vision on the human condition. Through metaphors and symbols that recreate his visual language, Makov depicts his conflicting ideas on Russia and Ukraine as seen from a intimate perspective.

The words of Pavlo Makov are an invitation to a wider consideration on everyday life and the sum of all the little things that we seem to forget. The artist underlines real life situations, narrating a war that did not start three months ago but is located in his heart. The Rose, such a simple element, becomes a metaphor for life and for the human condition that art cannot and should not escape. Art should not lower itself to political propaganda.

With this idea in mind, the exhibition is composed of the most recent works of the artist, most of which have been realised inside this very art gallery, which in turn creates a dialogue with the public.
