The historic centre of Florence will boast with activity on the day of the city marathon, now preparing for its 38th edition. The Florence Marathon is the main road running event in Tuscany, second in Italy only to the one in Rome, and one the top twenty marathons in the world.
The classic distance of 42.195 km will be covered by the athletes through landscapes and monuments across the city centre: the Cascine Park, the Lungarni, Ponte Vecchio, the sports complex of Viale Manfredo Fanti and other squares, including Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Santa Maria Novella, which will be used to support the runners with refreshments, warm-up exercises, massage therapy and a race packet depot.
